The customer is a supplier of custom uniforms and badges
to the largest Drug Store chain in the USA. The ordering process was done
in the traditional method of contacting customer service via a 1-800 number.
From here the order was manually entered into the ordering system and
then the order was fulfilled. The Drug Store chain wished to utilize their
Intranet / Internet setup to allow their stores to place orders online
and to view real-time reports on all orders being placed. From our customer's
perspective, they wanted to decrease the amount of human error being introduced
into the ordering process and streamline their operations.

| The Solution |
|
|
We chose to solve this by treating this as a typical
.COM scenario. That is, we were going to utilize the Internet as the transport
and the system had to be up all of the time. By doing this, we placed
into the solution all of the redundancy in the hardware components that
you would normally see in the .COM environment. We also used a co-location
facility to house the primary site.
